Kle McCasland built his first house at eighteen. His grandfather helped him secure the loan, and he built it on speculation in the summer between high school and college, then sold it at a profit. After that, he went off to college. The degree came second. The trade came first.

He has since built more than fifty custom residences and earned a reputation that followed him from Arizona back home to Texas: the builder you call when the lot is difficult. Hillside sites, rock, steep grades — the lots that ask more of a builder than a flat piece of ground ever will. It is the work he has found most satisfying, and it is exactly the work the Texas Hill Country asks for.

Kle spent the last several years as a senior superintendent on some of the most ambitious residential projects in Central Texas — with Dowbuilt, Homebound Luxury, and Builders Workshop — running builds in the twenty-million-dollar range and above. Extraordinary craftsmanship, extraordinary detail, and extraordinary timelines: three to five years for a single house, and a budget beyond the reach of almost everyone.

There is no team, no office, and no project manager standing between the client and the builder — by design. The man who answers the phone is the man on site. Kle works directly alongside the client’s architect or designer, and stays personally involved in every phase, from the first walk of the land through the final walkthrough.
